The human right to financial inclusion. ¿How has the Popular and Solidarity-based Financial Sector contributed to its materialization in Ecuador?
Abstract
One of the factors for an inclusive economic growth is the population's access to the formal financial system. This article seeks to demonstrate the relationship between the human right to financial inclusion and the Popular and Solidarity-based Financial Sector. To achieve this objective, this contribution explores the scope of the human right to financial inclusion and its close connection with the principles of this Sector. Finally, the present work focuses on the input of this Sector in the concretization of the access to financial services in Ecuador. The article is based on specialized bibliographic sources and Ecuadorian financial system databases indexes.
