Cooperativismo agropecuario en Argentina: antecedentes y transformaciones
Abstract
Towards the end of the 19th century, cooperatives in the agricultural sector emerged in Argentina as organizations integrated by small and medium farmers around the sector’s production. However, later on, they became a significant branch of the national cooperative movement. Economic, political and organizational changes affected their evolution; this is reflected in the sharp reduction in the number of entities and in relevant transformations in their socio-productive outline. In light of these transformations, this article aims to characterize the current structure and dynamics of the sector.
